The Montoyas

Josefina has the largest area in the doll room for her house because I love the style of southwestern and Mexican furnishings more than any other. It didn't make sense for her to ramble around her home all alone, so I gave her a sister, Clara. Clara is a #44 with the wig from #55.



Here are all three of my Montoyas. Marisol is now named Esperanza and is a cousin who lives with Josefina.

The rancho is being remodeled so I'm not sharing photos yet. I purchased some miniature tiles in Mexico that I want to incorporate and I need to make a better adobe fireplace for the sala.

Kimi and Ailís

Ailís enjoyed walking in the snow yesterday.


It was actually quite warm in the sun so she pulled off her hood and picked up some of the fluffy whiteness.


She carried the snow into the chalet where she was meeting her friend, Kimi.


I asked the girls if they met at the chalet so they could watch the boys out on the hockey rink, but they emphatically denied that!

Homage a Kimi

I've been feeling very nostalgic this weekend as I took photos of two older dolls. First is Kimi, an early version of Souldoll's MSD.


She was my second BJD and first MSD sized one.


Kimi came to live with me in May 2007 and has had quite a variety of wigs over time.


Parsley Pixie was a Valentine's gift and a special edition called a White Chocolate Vampire by Orientdoll. She as three pairs of wings that attach with magnets, but don't work over some clothing.


I never could decide on a wig for Parsley. She and Kimi were and are still great friends. I made the outfits both are wearing.

Stuffies, Mini Doll Sizes and Vintage Dolls

I am catching up the blog with three days of photos.


This is Hoppy, my husband's childhood stuffy. He still has all his limbs, but was very well loved.


Hoppy and my childhood Teddy Bear hang out together in a glass cabinet.


Next, a few people have asked me about the sizes of Tiny Riley and a mini American Girl. I photographed Peter (who is regular Riley size), mini Josefina, Tiny Riley and my Nancy Ann Storybook Doll all together. You can see why I think of Tiny Riley as being so petite.


And finally, today's photo shows Elizabeth (on the right) meeting a new friend. She's a little intimidated by new girl's perfect blonde hair and shiny body. I hope they get along!

Ready For the Game

Winter Walk and a New Dolly

It has been cold enough here for the snow to linger longer than usual. However, with the bright sunshine we can't help but be tempted to go outside. It was my first chance to take photos of Tiny Riley by Helen Kish. She certainly is tiny, being smaller even than Riley. I actually knit this jumper to be a sweater for Riley, but decided it could be a dress for the tiny one. She still doesn't have a name!


Tiny Riley is standing in front of the boat house by the lake in the first photo. It's not much of a lake right now because they drained it last fall to do some work on it. In the summer you can rent paddle boats on the lake, but I don't know if it will be full enough by next summer. It could take years to refill, depending on how much water there is available.


The "danger" sign warns people to stay off the ice because it is not cold enough here for good solid ice to form.


The sign doesn't make much sense anyway, since the lake is now just a field!

Dolly Shelf Sunday

I need to downsize and went through my Blythe dolls about 6 months ago and put some aside. These are the Blythe dolls that I cannot bear to part with will be staying. My choice is the same as it was then. Now to figure out what to do with the ones that will not be staying.

What I Did Today

Ann is very lucky to have her own room, but that means she must clean it up every Saturday. Snowball is a big help!

Tiny Tears Twins

These are my sweet vintage dolls that are just like the one I had as a child. I made their dresses and enjoy their precious little faces.
