Winter Socializing

We have continued to take a daily photo of Hitty Sol and enjoy following her around each day. The weather has been very cold so most activities are indoors.

Feed The Birds 6/30
Hitty has been making sure to fill the bird feeder every day so the birds do not go hungry.

Miss Hickory Comes to Call 7/30
One day Miss Hickory came over. She complained about the weather the entire time! Hitty Sol just kept smiling, though.

Two Wooden Dolls 8/30
Hitty is a very friendly sort and went to visit a new neighbor. Daisy has just moved into a lovely house down the way, so Hitty Sol stopped in to say "hello." Secretly, I think Hitty also wanted to see what her new neighbor looked like.

Having a Chat
The two sat down and had a nice chat. I think they will be good friends.

Welcome Daisy

Welcome Home

Welcome home to Daisy, the newest member of our household. Daisy is a 12" Xenis doll and made entirely of wood. She poses beautifully and her joints move with a smooth and graceful feeling. I have never had a doll that could hold a pose so easily. I am delighted with her study feel and look forward to taking her on our travels.

Bundled Up

We received about 5 or 6 inches of snow yesterday, and today was cold, but we braved the weather to go out and see the beauty of snow covered fields and mountains and the opening up of the blue sky as the clouds disappear. Daisy enjoyed sitting on the fence post and taking in her new surroundings.
Daisy has had to borrow all of her clothes from other dolls, as she arrived in only a ballet costume. Now the excitement begins as I start planning a wardrobe just for her. She is not the same size as anyone else who lives here, so her clothes must be custom made. She tells me that she lives in 1911, so I will have to try and make her appropriate outfits that she will feel comfortable wearing.

The Month In Which Hitty Is Featured

As you know, many different dolls live in our home. The Flatiron Hittys have been here for years, and have not been photographed in ages! Meli decided that a daily photo for 30 days would be the best way to remedy that situation.

Today we will catch everyone up on the activities in the Hitty household. The home was recently remodeled after everything spent almost a year in a box to avoid being chewed up by a new puppy. The dollhouse shelves have now been dusted and everything is back in order. Oh! And the puppy is now 14 months old and never touches anything that is not hers. She's an amazingly good dog!

The Hitty Dollhouse
Here is the house all set up. It lives at the top of a staircase and gets lots of light and gives the dolls a good view.

The Violin Played by Hitty Sol 1/30
Day 1: Hitty Sol is practicing the violin as she does every single day.

Tea Time 2/30
On Day 2 Hitty Sol and Hitty Flo enjoyed cupcakes and tea.

Hitty Sol Starts a Self Portrait 3/30
Day 3 shows Hitty Sol working on a self portrait. This was also to fulfill a weekly challenge where the subject was "self portrait."

Lucy Loves to Run
And as a special bonus, here is the sweet puppy who loves to run and does not chew on any toys but her own.
